1st Pallet Loader installed. 30-09-2007
The first fully automatic Pallet Loader was installed recently at the farm of Mr Nico Korsten on his farm in Leveroy near Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Mr Korsten currently has 40,000 free range birds on this site and is hoping to expand this to 70,000 birds in the near future.
The houses are connected with an egg conveyor bringing all the eggs to a central egg packing room. Here the eggs are inspected and automatically packed into trays which are then stacked into stacks of six. At the end of this line stands the Prinzen Pallet Loader (see Products menu for more information). The Pallet Loader loads the stacks of eggs onto a pallet. Plastic layer dividers are also placed onto the pallet automatically.
The whole collection system is operated by just one person. Due to the high level of automation, the operator is left to concentrate on the egg inspection aspect and not the laborious stacking and loading. Mr Korsten is confident that once the flock size has almost doubled to 70,000 birds his labour costs for the packing room will remain very low by using one operator only.
Mr Kosten has invested in the Twinpack Eggs Cargo System to improve stability of the pallets during transport, reduce the amount of packaging wastage and improve bio-security at the farm by having his own washable trays returned to the farm from the packing station.
